Professional Wrestling is a very entertaining sport to watch, there are many different types of professional wrestling, you have American Style of wrestling, British Style of wrestling, European Style of wrestling and even Japanese Style of wrestling, so what is wrestling?, how does it work?, what are the rules?, Well let me answer them very questions for you right here as I give you a background on a Sports entertainment spectacular that is Professional Wrestling.
The Rules
1: Wrestlers start inside the ring and when the bell sounds they start the match
2: If the both opponents go to the outside of the ring they have until the count of 10 to get back into the ring or both men will be counted out and the match will end as a no contest.
3: If a wrestler uses a weapon on his opponent during the match and the referee sees it that wrestler will be disqualified from the match and his opponent will win the match via DQ.
4: No closed fist punches, breaking this rule can lead to a DQ
5: No low blows (one opponent gets down on his knees and hits the opponent in the groin) breaking this rule can lead to DQ.
6: Interference for any wrestler can lead to that wrestler being disqualified from the match, and the opponent will win the contest.
7: There is a strict Time Limit for every match, depending on which company it is, there is always a time limit and if that time limit has reached then the match will end as a no contest and the match will be declared a draw.
8: There is various ways to win a match; you can win a match via, Countout, Pinfall, Submission and Disqualification.
Questions
How long is the time limit for each match?
It depends on which company you wrestle for, each different wrestling company out there has different time limits for each match that is on the show.
What if the ref does not see you use a weapon, closed first or a low blow?
If the referee does not see you use any of these including interference then he will not call for a DQ because he did not see you.
How long is the count out for?
Again it depends on the company you wrestle for but it is usually a 10 count out some promotions use a 20 count out limit.
How many wrestlers can start a match?
As many as the owner wants to start the match, it can start with 2 or 20, how many the owner wants to use for one match is up to him.
How many wrestling companies are there?
That is impossible to answer that question as there are 300 + promotions in Europe, America, United Kingdom and various other countries. A wrestling company can be anywhere even in your local village you never know how many there are.
Is wrestling fake?
Yes wrestling is fake but is still entertaining to watch, the wrestler know how the finish of the match will end but everything you see in the start of the match and the middle of the match is not scripted, but the end of the match is scripted and has to finish that way.
How long has wrestling been around?
Wrestling has a huge history, Wrestling has been around since 1500 BC, and is still going, wrestling is a very popular sport indeed and still is to this day and probably will be forever.
Which wrestling promotion is the best?
Again its impossible to say which is the best promotion out there because they are all very good for all different reasons, take TNA (Total Non-Stop Action) they are brilliant because of the talent that they use, the storylines that they use, the way that the company runs and the matches that they put on, and also 1PW (1 Pro Wrestling) they are popular with again the storylines, matches and etc but they also have the passion for the business and the way that their fans are they are so passionate about 1PW and that’s how it will always be, so 1PW is all about the passion, the pride and the legacy.
So if wrestling is fake why watch it?
Still watching wrestling whilst it is fake is entertaining, the moves that they pull off during the match and the talent that the wrestler have, that is what wrestling critics don’t get, is that they have spent years training to get where they are today and to do something that is their passion and pride. The moves that some of them pull off are phenomenal and spectacular and that’s why wrestling shows all over the entire world pull in about 30,000 + fans each and every time they produce a show.
