Wreake Valley Girls' Group
The Girls’ Group was set up a number of years ago and has always been popular. The Group meets in the Sixth Form Centre at Wreake Valley on a Tuesday evening. The girls and young women enjoy having ‘their own space’ and planning a programme which suits them. The youth workers are also female. Ideally the young people should be 13 years old when they join.
The members of this group get involved in a variety of activities especially crafts. They chat about all sorts of things like self-image, relationships, health issues and school! The girls have looked after ‘Sim Babies’; had BBQs, done cookery and have raised money for local and national charities. There have been trips to swimming and ten-pin bowling. The programme is put together with the young people so there is usually something for everyone.
New members are always welcome (Subs: 50p per session) to the group that meets on Tuesday evenings – 7.30-9.00 pm – Wreake Valley Sixth Form Centre. If you'd like to know more then speak to Jennett and Carole.
