Twilight
By Stephanie Meyer

The First of the Twilight Series

Bella Swan moves from the sunny city of Phoenix, USA, to the cold, over cast and ever raining town of Forks where she meets, and falls in love with, the mysterious Edward Cullun. Everything is going well for Bella even when she learns that he is a vampire. Everything takes a sudden turn for the worst when Edward and his family meet some other vampires who are desperate for Bella’s blood. Can Edward and the Culluns keep Bella safe?

All I can say for this book is WOW! This breath taking masterpiece had me spell bound for the whole night (from about 3:30pm – 2am) and I could not put it down for one moment after I picked it up. I was full of curiosity as I read it. Why did Bella, who loves the sun, move to Forks to live with her dad? Who is this mysterious Edward chap? What is it like to be a vampire? Will Bella survive?

Stephanie Meyer’s first person craft is amazing, I found that at times I was holding my breath in anticipation along with all the characters. The level of description makes everything all the more real and I easily imagined myself there.

It was easy to get inside the heads of Edward and Bella. Edward wants to keep Bella safe; Bella wants to know that Edward is safe whilst he is hunting the other vampires who want Bella’s blood, but she can’t go with him. Bella also worries about her dad, what if the danger should turn to him? But Edward has another choice to make before any danger even turns to Bella. Should he even be with her? Should she steel her from her normal world and let her enter the world of mythology that coexists with ours?

It came to no surprise to me when I learnt that Twilight is being made into a film (coming out this December 12) and I can’t wait to see it.

I think it is a book that a lot of people will enjoy as it has romance and plenty of action which keeps you gripped and makes you want to read more. A book for anyone over 14 who likes the supernatural.
