'Together'

A multi faith event for One World Week

The faith communities of Oadby have come together to organise the first inter-faith fair to take place in October at Beauchamp College. The event has been organised to mark One World Week – an annual initiative aimed at bringing together people of different backgrounds in order to celebrate our diversity.

From 1pm - 4pm on Sunday 26th October we invite all residents of Oadby, Wigston and beyond to come and join in the fun. Whether it’s Fair trade candy floss you wish to sample, mendhi or even African Drumming, you’re sure to find something to tickle your fancy, whilst at the same time being able to learn more about the faith groups in Oadby. There will also be a range of stalls with a Fair trade focus, including a children’s activities table, encouraging people to go for that more ethical alternative

Entrance will be 50p (so nothing that will break the bank!) or instead you can donate a can of beans in aid of the Red Cross Food Packages for asylum seekers.

Organiser and Beauchamp College Student Shabaana Kidy said “All in all, it’s set to be a fantastic day with lots to do – a little something for everyone! We hope to see you there!”
