Dreamers go back in time!

Festival of History.
July 19th.

Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton played host to the first Festival of History attended by the Dreamers young people. and, despite some very undecisive weather, it was a fantastic day.

There was an impressive selection of British Historical events, traditions, and outfits for our young people to learn about, and be surprised at.

Whilst queing to enter the World War 1 trench there was an array of different soldiers from varying armies and eras wandering past, as well as a gunshot that we must have heard about a hundred times throughout the day!

Whilst playing traditional British games next to the Victorian seaside (yes, a beach in the middle of a field!) you could have fully armoured gladiators on one side, and 14th century knights on the other.

And the absolutely brilliant Dropzone: D Day finale, complete with spitfires, paratroopers, gunfire and explosions was witnessed not only by an amazed group of Dreamers, but also by members of possibly every historical era imaginable. A very bizarre experience, i might add!!

For the Dreamers young people this was an opportunity to witness things they would never otherwise have got to see, as well as the chance to learn more about British history and culture. And they loved it.

Keen to learn what it was like...
