Stronghold 2 Deluxe - PC CDROM
Well…..Strong hold 2, first off I would like to say that it is HARD!!! But for any one who has played on the age of empires I definitely recommend it.
It’s got the same sort of features, you command lots of tiny little people in villages, but in stronghold you don’t just tell them to attack and kill you can, and have to, give them particular jobs e.g. farmer, cook, black smith, hunter or you can turn them into soldiers to build up your army. The further through the game you get the better sort of soldiers you can produce.
What you have to do is either choose the path of war (more about that later) or the path of peace (more about that later), but both of them have the same problem, you have to keep your people happy, and if you don’t, well they just get up and leave. The way you keep them happy is to keep them well fed, not charge them tax(which you will need to keep them fed), and to keep any problems-like wolves and bears- away from them…when I put it like that, it sounds simple, but trust me its not.
Here are most of the features that strong hold has. As I mentioned earlier you choose one of two paths, the path of war, or the path of peace (don’t worry you can change later if you find you don’t like one of them).
First, The Path of War (my favourite), it has four main options, which are:
• Kingmaker- complete different missions to build up your empire and climb the ladder of ranks to finally end as king.
• Lost King campaign- Fight and defeat different armies in different levels and situations.
• Siege- Pick a castle and choose to either attack it or defend it.
• Conquest trail- Defend and attack deferent castles in a series of missions each mission getting harder and the castle getting bigger.
• Custom- Create your own scenario.
Now, The Path of Peace which is definitely gentler and hasn’t got so much fighting -as you can probably guess by the title. This path has three options which are:
• Campaign- Help the king rebuild the country, helping different villages and become higher ranked.
• Free build- Build in peaceful environments and setting of your own choice.
• Custom- Create your own scenario.
Because of all these excellent options it sort of outweighs that it’s hard and the graphics are ok as well, so I will give it a 7 out of 10.
