Senior Club
Who is it for?
The "Senior" club is a well established group that works with young people aged 14 and above at the Shepshed Youth Youth Centre on the site of Hind Leys Community College.
What does it do?
Most of the sessions that take place at the club are agreed upon by the young people who attend, and in some cases are even run by them. Nobody is forced to take a session if they don't want to though!
They cover a wide variety of activities such as sexual health, sport and so on, as well as having the facilties where young people can meet up in a safe environment, whether it's to talk, play pool, have some food etc.
Some of the young people have even been involved in putting an official funding bid in to improve/extend some of the facilities.
When is it?
The club runs on Monday and Thursday nights, 7pm till 9pm, during term time.
Example
According to one member of the club
"We all have a laugh, get on well together, and can talk to the staff about anything we need to. I'd even recommend it to other people because it's not often that you find people still coming to a club at the age of 18 and still finding the advice and support given there, useful."
