Roy the Japanese Akita

When I last visited the Woodside RSPCA there were many dogs, cats and other animals that caught my eye but one did just that bit more than others. Roy is a male Japanese Akita that was brought in to the shelter as a stray. His owners were contacted but were unable to pay the fine for a straying a dog, so did not take him home.

He seemed to be quite indulged in things other than the people around him, and didn't want much interaction with people interested in him - This could prove to be difficult in trying to rehome him as there are so many dogs at Woodside that interact and play with visitors, and this is usually a great part of the appeal.

Roy cannot tolerate other dogs or small children, mostly because of the nature of his breed, and is looking for a strong, experienced owner who can take him to training classes and tend to his needs. He is still young and has a lot of life left in him! Roy can be found on the RSPCA Leicester website for more information and pictures. He's a beautiful dog that deserves a great new home!
