Please surrender is a Leicester based band who had their first practise in September 2006, this was just with James, Callum, Dave and Lauren. They covered ‘California Uber Alles’ by the Dead Kennedys. Then after a couple of weeks they found their vocalist Conner through school and that formed what used to be “way beyond sanity” They wrote a couple of songs including ‘burn the evidence’, ‘kill them all’ and ‘the people and their war’.They practise at Jame’s house on Fridays and on Saturdays at Stayfree practise rooms in Leicester. Massive shock came when suddenly a foreign band complained that they had stolen their name, and instantly demanded them to change the name of their band, so eventually it was agreed after a lot of stress that they would change their band name to “Please surrender” which Conner picked out of some Billy Talent lyrics.

The first gig they did under the name “Please Surrender” was on the 17th February 2007 - it was their very first public gig, with a quite a big turn out! After that they carried on playing and just focused on getting used to playing at gigs. One of the most enjoyable gigs they have done is at a Children In Need concert they performed at Longslade Community College. They performed “couldn’t care less” in front of most of the school, which was an amazing event. They recently played a gig at The Charlotte and they had a gig on the 6th of September with 101 promotions. They play at gigs more and more often with a 7/8 set list and people running around the stage screaming and enjoying themselves. They’re intent on making people do more than just tap their feet to music, so you’d better watch out! They have made £150 out of the band so far and its about one year since they’ve got together, so they are doing extremely well.
