Young people are invited to come to the Next Generation “637” Double Decker Bus to have three hours of entertainment at the above venues over next weekend. The bus will be parked at the various locations and there will be youth workers and members of the Impact Team who will be on board to enable them to use the facilities on the bus, which include videos, Playstation 2, beer goggles, drug / smoking games and activities plus sports kit.
Inspector Yallop, Commander of the Charnwood Local Policing Unit, said:
“Teenagers are often criticised for standing in groups on street corners and making a lot of noise on the local parks, we are hoping that parents and friends will let them know about next weekend and encourage them to come to the “637” Double Decker Bus.”
Daimon Nickerson, of the Youth Offending Service, said:
“We are so pleased to have activities that young people can access locally and free of charge for them and we sincerely hope that the venues are well supported over the weekend”.
Andy Hitchcock, Area Youth Officer, said:
“Partnership working has made these events possible. Youth workers will be as keen as the young people to make full use of the facilities on board and if successful it may be possible to have the Bus in other villages, with the support of the local communities.”
