History of Melton Young Mayors

Melton saw its first Young Mayor in 2007.

2007/08: Nicki & Haydn

Nicki was the first ever Young Mayor of Melton Mowbray. Which meant I was (supposedly) important. Therefore, I should have had:

• A loud voice,
• A listening ear,
• An open mind,
• And a will of steel.

These things made sure that YOUR (well the youth of Melton Borough's anyway) opinions were heard by the people who can (and more importantly WILL) do something about it.

I'm not saying I was PERFECT at my job. But I must be have been halfway decent at it, or they would have kicked me out!

Also to help me be not-perfect at this, there was/is a youth council (or forum, which ever) to support me. Which was/is very imaginatively named 'Melton Youth Council'.
