Melton Youth Council Executive
Chair
Hiya I'm Dann, and I'm the chair of Melton Youth Council. This is quite a huge responsibility within the youth council. In my role of Chair i run the meetings, which means setting the agendas and controlling the meetings making sure everyone has the point heard. My role also involves helping each member do their role and make sure that any task is completed on time and to the best of their abilities.I also form part of the publics perception of the youth council along with the Young Mayor, I may open events run by the youth council such as our annual conference or I may chair public question times such as our Youth Forums.
Vice-Chair
Hello, I'm Jess and I'm the Vice Chair of MYC, I help the Chair with his role in Chairing the Youth Council, as well helping other members across the Youth Council if they need it. I also chair meetings when the Chair is unavailable. I make sure the Youth Council keeps in order during the meetings
Secretary
Hi, I’m Cully the Secretary of MYC. It is my job to take minutes during the meetings, I also write the agenda up once the Chair and Exec have agreed it. Once things are written up it is my job to upload them onto the Jitty. I also do any admin jobs that need doing.
Treasurer
Hi I'm Tim, I'm Treasurer for MYC. I am in close communication with CYCLe Treasurer and update them on the funds for MYC, as well as making sure that everyone in MYC knows how much money there is.
Communications
Hello I'm Adam; I'm MYC's Communications. I am in charge of making sure that everybody knows what they need to know when they need to know it. I keep a database of all outside contacts for members of MYC; I also keep a database of all members of MYC so that they can be contacted anytime with ease. I work closely with the press officer and publicity and will help them in their duties.
Publicity
Hi I am Tim, I am the publicity officer for MYC. It is my job to advertise the youth council and make sure it is shown in a good light. I work closely with the Press and Communications officer. This year my mine task is to design a leaflet to advertise the youth council throughout the borough.
Press
Hey I’m Tim and I’m the Press Officer for MYC. I write all of the press statements for MYC which then go onto the Jitty; I also send them out to the local media. I make sure that the Youth Council is shown in a good light within the Borough.
New Members Officer
It is my job to bring new members up to speed when they join and introduce them to PoP and the rest of the council. I have to be a friendly face to all new people.
School Liaison Officers
Our job is to talk to the schools and take information from the Youth Council and CYCLe to them and bring things back if we need to. We make the link between MYC and Melton Borough's schools.
Jitty Officer
Hi I'm Rob and it is my job to keep the MYC Jitty pages up to date and looking good, i make sure there is a monthly update and that everyone knows when our next meeting is.
