Luton V Liverpool
3rd round of the FA Cup and the European Champions go to Luton Town, a side that has beaten Europe's best and is doing brilliantly in the Premiership take on the Championships Luton Town. Liverpool go 1-0 up after 15mins with some fine work by Gerrard. Then Luton get a goal to make it 1-1 and making Benitez lose his cool on the sidelines. After that Liverpool get a some what controversial penalty which Cisse misses with a pretty poor shot (or excellent save by Marlon Beresford).
Moments later Luton town go 3-1 up and Liverpool go into the second half 2 goals down. Then the genius that is Rafa Benitez makes an inspired decision by bringing on super sub Pongolle. He comes on and with him on the pitch for only 5 mins he scores to make it 3-2 then with an amazing 40 yard screaming lob over the Luton keeper Xabi Alonso scores to make it 3-3. Lutons tired legs started showing as Pongolle scored a well struck header to make it 4-3 to the European Champions then in injury time Luton got a corner taking everyone up to Liverpools penalty area, including the keeper then Liverpool got the ball, and Xabi Alonso skipped past a tackle by Beresford, hit an amazing shot from way into his own half and put the ball into the net with the last kick of the game to make it 5-3 and an amazing FA Cup 3rd round tie once again proving why Liverpool are European Champions and just why the FA Cup is the best domestic cup in the world.
