Kegworth Youth Centre

Thursday: 6.00pm – 8.00pm

Kegworth Youth Club is based in a purpose equipped building at the rear of Kegworth Community Centre next to the car park. The Youth Centre contains a main area as well as a small kitchenette. The building is accessible to wheelchair users. There is very little outside space for games and therefore all activities on Youth Club sessions are building based. However, the Youth Workers are happy to help members to organise trips and visits, and we are able to hire the area Youth Mini bus for this purpose.

The Club is open to boys and girls between the ages of 13 – 19 years. It is a generic open access youth club. The young people that attend the group help to plan the programme of activities that are on offer. Recent activities have included Street Dancing, Graffiti Art, Making a DVD, Baby Sitting Course and football Tournaments. Trips and visits.

The Club also offers a Pool Table, Football Table, Table Tennis, TV/DVD, Arts and Craft resources.

The Youth Workers are equipped with knowledge and information about other services and organisations that can support young people.

Members are encouraged to keep a record of their acitivities in the form of a diary, or as a project folder, or by using photos and a little written work. They are then able to submit their folder to gain a qualifications or award.

From this Club, many members take part in other local, shorter term projects and activities These include such things as Youth Forum/Parish Outdoor Pursuits, Arts Projects, Inter Club Sports, Meetings and consultation projects with Parish Councillors and other Providers and Services for young people, Area Youth Council, Trips and Holiday Activity Programmes and much more.

‘Kegworth Youth Club is a cool place to meet your mates and we can have a laugh too’ ‘I have enjoyed doing the Graffiti Art project and the Youth Workers are very helpful if you have any problems’ ~ member
