What do Harborough Youth Council do?

We aim to give young people in the Harborough District a voice. If there's nothing to do in your area, or if getting involved is too expensive; or if you're just fed up that what you have to say isn't being heard: we can help you make a change.

We meet regualy to decide how we can improve Harborough District, so if you're aged 13-19 and want to get involve, we'd love to see you. Come to one of our meetings, or get in touch using the details below.

one last thing from the harborough section .....

we just wanted to let you all know that all our members recived a 60 hour asdan accreditation (this gives us the same credits as half a gcse and some of us got 2 !!!) the celebration night for that is thursday 7th oct
so what did we do to get them
tim told us ..........

'To get the my Asdan awards, I had to complete two sets of 60 hours of volunteering with the Youth Council here in Harborough. For the first award, I helped to lead the planning and running of a youth conference, which took place in February. For the second, I helped to run a residential for the members of the youth council, including running a workshop. To get the award, I had to keep a log of all of the activities I did, and use proof like photos and witness statements. On top of this, I had to evaluate all the different skills I used and improved - I was surprised how many there were! Of course, I couldn't have done this without the huge help of Leicestershire County Council's Youth Service, who do a great job in helping loads of people like me to get recognised qualifications like this!
