Executive Committee
Below are members of the Hinckley & Bosworth Youth Council Executive Committee (Exec). Executive members must be elected at an Annual General Meeting in March or at an Extraordinary General Meeting which may be called at any point during the year.
The Executive members also go to the Exec. Meetings. They decide on what is happening in more detail and what is going to happen at the Main Meetings.
Chair

As chair it's my job to make sure that everyone else is doing their jobs. I also have to lead the meetings, so that means I write agendas and then make sure that everyone has the chance to get their say during the meeting. Being chair means a lot of things, it's a big responsibility and there are billions of things to learn. I get hundreds of emails and I am the main point of contact for anyone to talk to in and out of the Youth Council. Being chair means that i also have to delegate jobs to other Youth Council members and work with my vice chair to make sure that people have done the jobs. I organise most of the meetings out of youth council meetings. I also have to make sure that the exec is up to date and knows what is going on with certain jobs or with Agenda items which are bought forward to me and the Youth Council. I have a lot of support from my exec and it's all great fun :) I love love love HBYC and really enjoy getting involved with everything we do and meeting loads of new people! :)
Vice-Chair

I'm currently Vice Chair for HBYC. I help the Chair in leading any main or exec meetings she can't attend and sharing some of her work load where I can! I help to make sure everyone can do the jobs they have been delegated and generally help to oversee the smooth running of our lovely Youth Council.
Treasurers

Hi, we’re Katy & Dan; we’re the Treasurers for HBYC. Our job is to look after the money, keep a tight check on the budget to make sure that HBYC can afford all the things we do to improve our community. We also work closely with the Youth Workers to sort out what money we have and what ways we can get around spending money unnecessarily.
Communications Officer

I'm the Communications Officers for HBYC. I make sure that everyone stays in touch with everyone and that everyone knows when meetings are and where. I also make sure that our contact list is up to date and that everyone who needs email addresses or contact details has them :). I also sit on the exec and full meetings and am an active member of the Youth Council.
Press & Publicity Officer

Hi. I’m HBYC’s Press & Publicity Officer. My job involves dealing with the press (newspapers, radio etc)– getting them to our events like Battle Of the Bands, the Voice of Young Peoples’ Conference, and also to put in general good news about the Youth in Hinckley and Bosworth (to show that the youth aren’t bad people at all).
Jitty Officer

Hi I'm Keiran and I'm the Jitty Officer. My job is to make sure that information from The Jitty gets fed back to HBYC and vice versa. Without me The Jitty wouldn't know what the Youth Council are doing and we wouldn't know what The Jitty is doing for us. I have been on the Youth Council for over 2 years now. I attend both Exec and Main meetings. My job does involve a fair bit of IT, but I have rather good skills in IT, and i also am part of the Anti Bullying and Stereotyping Sub Group. I'm in Year 12 doing a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT Level 3.
S.L.O - School Liaisons Officer

Hi Everybody, My Name’s Alex and I am the Hinckley & Bosworth Youth Council’s School Liaisons Officer (SLO). Inclusion Officer

Hi, My name’s Kieran and I am the inclusion officer. This job involves getting everyone in our community involved in HBYC events, whether that is our annual conference, or a presentation, fund raiser etc. If HBYC doesn’t include everyone, I question HBYC about that choice and make them change it. I am also in the anti-bullying and stereotyping sub-group, so both jobs overlap! Thanks For Reading, Kieran D :-)
