Green Day - Wake me up when September ends
"Wake me up when September ends" is a beautiful song which the lead singer of Greenday wrote for his dad and they made a video to it. In Greenday the members are Billie-Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, guitar) Mike Dirnt (vocals, bass) and Tré cool (vocals, drums). The video is split in too two different parts, one part is where Billie, Mike, Tré and Jason white (who also plays the guitar in Greenday, he was in the video too; he was only once before in one of their other videos and that was in "When I come around"), they are standing in a dark sort of red and black room, with their instruments playing and singing to the song, then about half way through sparks come down from behind them to make it look good while Billie plays his guitar solo. It is quite amazing.
The other part of the video is a bit like a story, its a story about a young couple, Jamie Bill who plays the 18 year old boy, and Evan wood who plays the 18 year old girl, the lovers are happy until one day the boy desides he was going to join the army, the girl is really upset and shouts at him, but he thought she would be proud of him. the video is really about someones upsetting experience in life similar to Billie because he lost his dad when he was ten because he died of cancer (thats why he wrote the song because he died in September). But it keeps showing you clips of the girl at home crying to try and make you feel sorry for her and try and get the whole story over a bit more, but then it skips right to the bit where the boy goes to war, and one of his squaddy mates (another soldier)gets shot in the leg. but then it ends with the girl looking to the sky and a voice saying "you'll always have someone here for you, I'm never gonna leave you" and it leaves you wondering will he die or will he get back to his girlfrend?
