Freaky Friday (PG)
Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Harmon, Harold Gould
Basic Background/Origins
Freaky Friday was originally a novel by Mary Rodgers in America, 1972. Since the book, it has been adapted into a television series and two films. The first movie (Barbara Harris as Ellen Andrews and Jodie Foster as Annabel Andrews) was released onto the big screen in 1976, followed by the television series (Shelley Long as Ellen Andrews and Gaby Hoffmann as Annabelle Andrews) in 1995 and then in 2003, followed this new, modernized version.

About The 2003 Main Characters
This newer version of Freaky Friday stars teen actress, Lindsay Lohan, as Anna Coleman, a typical teenager that loves her band, music and boys. Her mother, Tess Coleman, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, is an organised, calm woman and the opposite to her daughter. Tess and Anna both struggle to see things from the others point of view but after a strange event they both see what is important to each other.
Storyline
On the Thursday night, the family celebrate Tess and Ryan’s (Mark Harmon) wedding in a restaurant but all turns sour after an argument and a fortune cookie given to Tess and Anna by the owner of the restaurant’s mother. By Friday morning, both have woken up to find themselves trapped in each other’s body! Tess and Ryan’s wedding is the day after and they need to live each other’s daily lives without arousing suspicions.
My favourite part of the movie is the scenes with Anna’s band (Pink Slip) practice and their show at House of Blues. Suspense is built up in the scene at the House of Blues as you wonder how Tess will cut it with the guitar solo.
The music in this movie suits the target audience and the movie itself really well. My favourites are Christina Vidal (who plays Maddie, member of Pink Slip) ‘Take Me Away’, Lillix ‘What I Like About You’ and Halo Friendlies ‘Me Vs. The World’ which are all very catchy!
The DVD also includes many features like Backstage with Lindsay Lohan, alternate endings, a deleted scene, PinkSlip performances, music videos from Lillix and Halo Friendlies and more.
