Exam Stress
How stressed are you? Very, not at all…what if I mention the word … EXAMS… okay stop throwing stuff at me it's only a WORD!
All over the country people take exams at various stages in their lives – whether they are SAT's, GCSE's, AS and A2'Levels NVQ's and all the others that I haven't named, and the majority of people get stressed over it – whether its before, during or after the exams.
So seen as EVERYBODY has to do these exams, lets see if we can stop you getting stressed by it… tips:
1. Start your revision early (e.g. if your exams are in June then start revising around Easter time – 3-4 months before the exams) so that you feel confident in your ability to pass
2. Don't try to be perfect, try your best but set yourself reasonable targets.
3. Talk to people about your worries, just sharing a problem makes it 100 times easier to deal with
4. If you find you don't understand some part of your course material, then ask from help – parents, friends and teachers will always help you
5. And most importantly 'Believe in yourself', you would never have been given a place on a course if the teachers didn't think you could do it.
Exams, Exams, Exams...AAAAARRGGH
Exams ? Exams ? Exams ? You've had it all before. Whether it's just a small mental test, or the big ones, like GCSE's, they all count for something, even if you don't think they do. For those of you who always panic, and are always stressed up, and take out your anger on the first person who comes into sight, then you need to CHILL OUT, and BREATHE! There's nothing worse than panicking, trust me on this it only makes things harder.
You see the way I cope with my exams is just not to worry. But, this doesn't mean I don't bother with them. The only way you can't be relaxed about your exams is if you're prepared, and the only way you can be prepared is to revise. Yeah I know, that's all you ever, "Revise" "Revise" "Revise." But do you know what? It's true. And if you ask me it helps loads.
There's just one more thing. You can't revise all the time, and have no fun time, as the old saying goes "All work no play, makes Jack a dull boy!" So what you do is take small revising sessions, or if you want have a timetable. Between these small periods of revision, watch a bit off TV, or play a computer game, or just chill.
It does help, and if you do bother exams are nothing to be worried about. So just relax, and don't forget to have some fun.
