-The human whose name is written in this note shall die.
-This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
-If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen.
-If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack.
-After writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects, but he is bored out of his mind. However one day, he finds a notebook on the floor. This is a death note, a notebook dropped by a Shinigami (death god) called Ryuk who is also bored out of his mind.
After Light discovers what the death note can do, he decides to use it to rid the world of evil; killing off dangerous criminals using the death note.
As prisoners are dying, the authorities and legendary detective L attempt to find the killer. Light is then known as Kira. Can Light achieve his goal to become a God of a new world, or will the detectives track him down, meaning he would lose his life?
I think that Death Note is an excellent manga with a strong story line. It is known as the world's most cutting-edge manga and has been a success, hence that it is an anime as well as 2 films. Death Note has to be one of the best series I've read.
