Who are we?
Charnwood Youth Council is a diverse group of young people whose goals are to listen, value, support and act with other young people in the Charnwood area.
We empower young people across Charnwood to have a say and be heard.
Anyone can join the youth council between the ages of 11-19 years or upto 25 with special needs.
As a group we find it very important to cater for everybodies individual needs and as a group try to make all our members feel welcome.

Cardboard City - Giving a voice to the homeless

Cardboard City was an event run by Charnwood Youth Councillors to give homless young people a say on the services that support them. Eleven Youth Councillors visited young people who live in hostels for homeless young people. They talked to them about youth homelessness and how services could be improved to give better support. Youth Councillors later on built a cardboard city in a car park and slept in it over night raising funds for two Charnwood charities who support local people facing housing difficulties.
