Summer 2008
Wow what a summer we had - we ran 3 weeks of activities a week at each location including Glen Parva, Countesthorpe and Blaby. We also held a week on the babysitting course and another on senior member training. There was a Blaby District Dodgeball event, plus workers on the 637, Streetvibe and detached sessions in Cosby, Blaby and Countesthorpe and finally Glen Parva Gala day.
There was loads on offer - see the photos below for just a taste. Keep checking the website for future events.
May 2008
The Youth Team was approached by some enterprising young people who wanted to raise money for their chosen charity: Cancer Research. So we hatched a plan to have a fund-raising activity day with a talent show at the end.
A great day was had by all as we took full advantage of the Youth Area by using the Wii, Pool, giant games and art equipment. Graffiti art was again very popular and we all worked to produce another board.
The talent on offer was awarded 10 out of 10 for effort although the Countesthorpe's got talent board were not so forgiving. We had pleasure is seeing magicians, jugglers, comedians and a performing cuddly dog!!!
All in all they raised just under £20.00, it was a great effort for our first initiative. Well done everyone.
Easter Activities 2008
This Easter the members had the full attention of the Youth Team as we took Young Carers, Victory Club and Countesthorpe Youth Council away to Beaumanor on residentials.
We took part in teambuilding, water sports, high ropes and zip wire as well as arts, sports, food, easter egg hunts and much more. Everyone got on really well and supported each other with the challenges they faced.
If you want to e a member of our groups just contact Tammy on the details below for more ways to be involved.
October 2007 Events
Football Against Racism: The Tournament
Over half term we ran a football against racism tournament at Huncote Leisure Centre. Our boys group put loads of effort in but were sadly defeated by what can only be described as a "semi-professional" team. The girls team showed strength and determination but had such a positive attitude that there were awarded the Fair Play Trophy.
Everyone took part on the 637 bus, sports, graffiti, DJ-ing and Giant Skipping. There were teams from all over Blaby and a great day was had by all.

We are kicking out racism

Activity Day
Countesthorpe
We had another art activity day at Countesthorpe like the one at Easter. Bob and Jane organised loads of things to do like Glass Painting, sculpture and card making.
Glen Parva

Can you see the smoke.....

Face Painting... Can you guess who I am yet
Wow what a day!!! We had 43 Young People squeezed into Glen Parva Village Hall. It was fantastic if a little over whelming. There was smoke coming from the nail artist as one stage as she was having to work so fast.
Luckily some of the young people were able to relax with foot baths and face masks. For the more energetic there was bin bag fashion, face painting and body art.
To add more to the day we made mouse mats, toffee apples and glass painting. As the day was such a success we are now running several courses for Young People to take part in, these are:
· Babysitting
Begins Thursday 4th September 2008
(12 week course)
· Health and Beauty
Begins Monday 15th September 2008
(8 week course)
· Hair Care
Begins Monday 17th November 2008
(4 week course)
· Cooking and Food Hygiene
Begins Monday 12th January 2009
(8 week course)
