ABOUT THE GROUP-

Pegasus is a group for young people aged 13-19yrs with special needs. The group meet every Thursday night from 7pm-9pm at Mountfields Youth Centre Loughborough.
At Pegasus we do activities that help young people develop and gain skills to enable them to move up to the more adult focused group Spirit Of Adventure which is for young adults with special needs aged 19- 25 yrs.

PEGASUS CULTURE EVENING

At Pegasus Special Needs Group we run a range of different activities. We do culture evenings where the group look at different countries and cultures around the world, the group will try some cooking, look at the history of the country and try a bit of the language and sometimes even dress up in traditional dress.

Garden Project

Pegasus applied for some funding to renovate the garden at Mountfields Youth Centre, the group were awarded £7000!!! We had some help from a big well known company to do the heavy stuff and work the big machinery, then we planted bulbs and cleared the garden. We had a big launch evening where the garden was officially opened, there was a bbq and an owl sanctuary who brought owls of all sizes for us to hold and touch. it was a great night and everyone really enjoyed it.

Pegasus Win Award for Independent Living Book

Pegasus applied for funding and made a book about independent living. the book covers a whole range of things from changing a plug to picking the perfect pet. Pegasus were invited to an award evening where the won the 'Supporting the Community' award for the work they did on the book. copies of the book are available from Mountfields youth centre.

Upcoming New Projects

Pegasus have new projects starting after Easter, these are
1) to design healthy menu for tuck shop
2) link up with a special needs school in Gambia
3) do some fundraising for Hart House in Gambia
4) culture evenings
5) dance/keep fit sessions
6) Prom night
7) stars in your eyes evening

there will also be activities run alongside the projects and can be things like arts and crafts, deal or no deal, quizzes and loads more.

Pegasus Are Looking For New Members

Pegasus Special Needs group are looking to recruit new members....are you aged between 13years and 19 years?? do you want to meet new people and make new friends?? would you like to join in some of our upcoming projects?? do you want to have fun?? then why not come along to Mountfields Youth Centre, Loughborough on a Thursday evening between 7pm and 9pm.

Pegasus Grand Launch evening!

If you have a disability and are aged between 16 and 19, the Pegasus Youth Project would like to invite you to an open evening.

This will take place from 7pm to 9pm on Monday 19th October, at Mountfields Lodge Youth Centre, Epinal Way, Loughborough. We'll have music, a DJ, a barbeque, henna painting, outdoor games and more!
