Peer mentor group at Highfield High School
Heathfield High School has been running a Peer Mentoring Programme for a number of years.
They are known as Stus this stands for "SPEAK TO US"
The Stus are trained by Sue Whawell and Karen Knight, they are trained on many issues and have a strict confidentiality code.
They offer support for young people at the school who may be experiencing difficulties such as bullying or friendship issues.
The Stus are well supported within the school and have the relevant traning concerning child protection to know when it is important to share information with a appointed staff member if a young person may be at risk.
The Stus from Heatfield who come up to William Bradford are then trained again on many different issues and become part of the Peer Mentoring Programme currently in place at William Bradford.
