On Thursday 6 December 2007 at Snibston Discovery Park, Leicestershire County Council hosted a CELEBRATION Evening to recognise the commitment and contribution made by young people to Youth Clubs in North West Leicestershire.
A number of invited guests were in attendance to acknowledge these young people, they included:
Mike Jones CC Chairman of Leicestershire County Council and consort
Neil Hanney Principal Youth Officer
Peter Osborne Cabinet Support Member for Children & Young People's Service
Steve Graham star of "This Is England", "Snatch", "Gangs of New York"
Young people came from across North West Leicestershire - Castle Donington - Ashby de la Zouch - Coalville - Ibstock, to hear words of encouragement, inspiration, and congratulations from the guest speakers.
But the undoubted 'hit' of the night was Mike Jones, who the young people thought was 'MINT'.
Special thanks go to all the young people, the invited guests, the youth workers, and the staff of Snibston Discovery Park for making the evening such an outstanding success.
