Casino Royale (12A)
Starring: Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, Giancarlo Giannini
Daniel Craig's first 007 mission takes him to Montenegro, where he is to spy on a terrorist organization, run by Le Chriffre. MI6 assigns 007 to play poker against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his whole organization.
'M' places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd. At first sight of what Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together, and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre.
In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Matthis, M16's local field agent, and Felix Leiter, who is representing the interests of the CIA.
In my opinion, the latest bond film is certainly one to see when it comes out on DVD on the 19th March.
The idea of not having 'Q' in this film clearly shows and does in some ways make it more realistic. However, there are some parts in the film where a gadget from 'Q' wouldn't go a miss as it would bring back the sense of imagination that the character shows in other films.
In conclusion, I feel that Casino Royale is definitely an excellent 21st film to the James Bond series and would not at all be disappointed if the next film was very similar.
