Countesthorpe locality youth events

For more info on the following events please contact Tammy, Youth Worker at Countesthorpe Community College, on 0116 264 2316, 07795 450519 or tammyb1@countesthorpe.leics.sch.uk; or by leaving a message in Tammy's pigeon hole at the College. Tammy will then send out a consent form that you will need to return ASAP.

Transport is provided for all events, pick up will be from Countesthorpe Community College or Glen Parva Memorial Hall. Other areas can be arranged if needed, however you will need to book and complete a consent form.

February 2008 Half Term Events

Area Activity Day

Wednesday 13th February 1-4pm at Glenfield Youth Centre: An event where people for all over area south join in on an activity day. We have the climbing wall booked and are planning lots of other activities such as graffiti, arts, Wii, DJing and much more.

Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) residential

Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th February at Beaumanor: This is a chance for LGB young people to meet with other LGB young people from the Lutterworth locality. We are organising some great activities from team building to high ropes. The purpose is to then get together and develop an awareness-raising leaflet for professionals on the effects of homophobic bullying.

International Women’s Day

Saturday 8th March 1pm to 4pm at Winstanley: Young Women from around the area are getting together to celebrate this event. We will have loads of things from swimming, archery, arts and crafts, circus skills and much much more. There will also be free food and drink. It is held at Winstanley Youth Centre, so book now to reserve your place and transport.

Young Carers and Victory club resi

Thursday 27th March to Friday 28th March: Members of the Victory club, a group for young people who require extra support and the young carers group are having a team building residential together at Beaumanor. We will be doing team building and high ropes as part of our activities. If you think you need extra support then join the Victory Club on Monday Nights 7pm to 9pm in the Youth Centre, you too could be going on this trip!!

Youth Council Residential

Sunday 30th March to Monday 31st March: Countesthorpe and Braunstone Youth Council with Young People from Area South involved in Youth Councils are having a residential to meet and have fun with other young people who are members of a Youth Council. It will be held at Beaumanor with loads of team-building and High Ropes. The group will also plan how to work together on an issue. If you would like to be part of the Youth Council and attend this event then we meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at Countesthorpe Village Hall, next to the library.
