Brockington Special Activities Lunch Club

A picture that a young person drew to describe their dog and themselves

This club caters for the more vulnerable young people that attend Brockington. It is also the only club that the Youth Workers run that has members starting in year 7 and progressing to year 9. The reason for this is to give these young people a continuity throughout their time at the College with support of the Youth Work Team

Another picture that a young person drew expressing themselves

Following an internal inspection of the group by the Youth Service earlier this year they were graded Good in youth work provision and Good in the learining of young people (3-3). There was a recomendation that the learning and distance travelled by these young people could be better documented. We are now working with the group to help them to each attain a Youth Achievement Award. Having 3 years with some of these young people means they can complete these awards in thier own time through a variety of different activities.

We also work in partnership with the College. 2 L.S.A.s (Learning Support Assistants)work alonside 2 youth workers at every session. This has been very successful in forming a strong bond between school and youth work. On average 20 young people attend each seesion that runs on Monday lunch time.
