Local ODEON gets new projector to screen all-star 3D film of the year – Beowulf

ODEON Leicester Freemen’s Park today announces the installation of its first digital projector to bring 3D films to Leicester City locals. To celebrate this landmark event, from 16th November, the ODEON in Leicester will screen the hot new 3D film of winter 2007 – Beowulf – starring Ray Winstone, Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins - taking a trip to the local cinema to a whole new dimension.

The Leicester cinema is one of the first of 500 3D screens planned in ODEON and UCI cinemas across Europe as the cinema chain teams up with global leader in digital 3-D, RealD, to provide a truly unique cinema-going experience to Leicester residents. Donning state-of-the-art, polarized 3D glasses, audiences will now have the chance to get truly up close and personal with a whole range of planned screenings, kicking off with groundbreaking director Robert Zemeckis’ highly anticipated epic of Beowulf told as never before - in stunning 3D.

Film fans in Leicester will be transported directly into the three-dimensional world of heroes, where the mighty warrior Beowulf slays the demon Grendel and incurs the wrath of its monstrous yet seductive mother in a conflict that transforms a king into a legend. The crystal clear, larger than life 3D images, combined with state-of-the-art digital surround sound, creates an environment that throws the audience right into the centre of the action.
