On a cold winter night, Nottingham's "Rescue Rooms" were invaded by the crowds of fan's willing to brace the freezing winter weather to be a part of Zebrahead's "Get Nice Or Die Trying" tour, and show their full support for the band. Before Zebrahead took to the stage the crowd were nicely warmed up by the support act's "Attack! Attack!" And "Army of Freshmen", both kicking the crowd in to gear in their own rocking way.
As the night progressed and the supports had played their final song's the main act took to the stage and were greeted with a huge uproar from the crowd. Zebrahead seemed to bring the audience to life as soon as the first chord was played. With all the moshing, head banging, chanting and stage diving anyone could see that Zebrahead have really worked hard to get this response for just their opening few songs.
As the night went on a few members of the audience were invited up on stage to join in the party and watch the rest of the show sitting at a make shift Hawaiian bar set up on the stage. A very memorable moment of mine was when the show seemed to get very serious, with demands from front man Ali Tabatabaee that during the next song he wanted pure anarchy, blood to run down the wall, limb's to go flying, mass moshing and so much more. At the peak of the build-up when everyone was ready to go crazy they kicked off with a cover of Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend' from their 'Panty Raid' album, which the fans loved and made me laugh.
As the show seemed to draw to a close and the crowd and the band departed from the stage with a great deal of cheering to follow, a policeman dressed in a hula skirt and coconut bra ran onto the stage and started off 'Zebrahead'. To which the crowd joined in and raised the volume to such high levels that the band came back on and played several encore songs including one of my favourite Zebrahead songs, 'Everything's falling apart'.
It was a show that any fan of Zebrahead would have thoroughly enjoyed without a doubt. Filled with all the rocking, electrifying music and humorous jokes and laughs that really make the band stand out from others; it certainly wasn't a night to forget.
