Volunteer with V

Do you have a few spare hours on your hands? Whatever you're into, Vinspired will help you find volunteering opportunities near you. Vinspired has taken over from the old Millennium Volunteers initiative, and is the best place to go if you are aged between 16 and 25 and are looking for places to volunteer in your area.

Vinspired makes it so easy for you to sign up through their website (details at end). You will be asked about your interests, experience and availability and then, using a special search engine, the site will help to find you details of relevant volunteering opportunities in your area. Alternatively, you can contact your local Vinvolved Youth Volunteer Advisor (YVA) who will help you to find exactly what you are looking for.

Vinvolved Leicestershire and Rutland is part of V, the National Youth Volunteering Charity and organisation that gets young people to volunteer their time to do something useful with their spare time. Working alonside your Youth Volunteer Advisor you will be able to find a volunteer opportunity whether it be something animal related or working in a woodland park. All the time you spend volunteering will be dependant on what you can manage, with whatever else you have going on in your life.

There is also a chance to become a YAT (Youth Action Team member). This involves attending meetings about plans for the future, marketing, planning events, promoting volunteering to your peers and getting involved in local events such as Battle of the Bands, Party in the Park, etc.

The only thing stopping you doing any of this is yourselves, so get out there and get involved. It will help you learn new skills and the experience will not only be fun, but will look great on your CV. To get involved with the YATs, just talk to your Youth Volunteer Advisor.
