Welsh rock stars, The Automatics who are best known for their 2006 single 'Monster' that reached #4 in the UK singles chart, gave a truly impressive performance at the Nottingham Rescue Rooms on 23rd March this year.

The band members seemed to be thrilled to be playing to the small, but energetic crowd. The Automatic began flooding the room with their powerful (though sometimes erratic) guitars and kit, accompanied by a wonderful 3 part vocal harmony. They started by playing some of their newest tracks like the now quite popular 'Interstate', but, I was please to see that the band kept to tradition with their brilliant performance of the ever popular 'Monster', which became almost impossible to hear through the screams of joy and karaoke like singing that the ecstatic crowd were only to happy to provide.

Some of there tracks, like 'This is a fix' and 'Steve Mcqueen' were completed with hilarious moves and even weird and wonderful masks!. Throughout the performance not one of the band members seemed to loose power in what that were doing, still, while the older hits still get the biggest reaction, there is no doubt in my mind that no one who was there that night will be forgetting that epic performance any time soon.
