Summer Sundae Weekender 2010

13th-15th August, De Montfort Hall and Gardens
Mid-august rolls around and yet again it's time for De Montfort Hall and it's gardens to fill with a plethora of food and gift stalls, thousands of beer-fuelled music fans, a whole host of both famous and up and coming bands. Not forgetting the undeniable sign of a good British festival - mud.
This year's festival promised to be extra special in celebration of it's tenth anniversary, and definately didn't disappoint. With headlining performances from the likes of Seasick Steve, Roots Manuva, The Whip, Tinchy Stryder, Mumford and Sons and The Futureheads, as well as smaller perfomances from rising stars such as Eliza Doolittle and Diana Vickers. What also makes this weekend so great every year is the emphasis on local artists, with acts such as By the Rivers, Autohype and Matti Wilson/Nancy Dawkins all taking to the stage to wow punters with their as of yet undiscovered talents.
For those seeking more than just music, the EFestivals Caberet tent was on hand, showcasing hilarious acts such as Ray Peacock and Milton Jones. The Phoenix Film Tent put on nightly showings of musical big-screen hits, and the Real Ale Tent was popular as ever. Not forgetting the strange phenomenon that is a silent disco, and of course, the joys of indoor toilets, it's no wonder Summer Sundae just keeps getting bigger and better!
