Spiderman 3 (12A)

Spiderman returns in his 3rd film directed by Sam Raimi and created from the original fictional spiderman by Marvel Comics. This film is action-packed, but is based on the theme of jealousy and revenge.

Everything is going well for Peter Parker. Everyone likes him (as Spiderman) and he has a girlfriend, Mary Jane Watson, who he plans to propose to. One night, a small meteorite crashes which contains an alien symbiote, which attaches itself to Peter's moped.
Meanwhile, an escaped prisoner called Marko Flint attempts to see his very ill daughter, but has to run away from the police. He ends up falling into a particle accelerator which transforms him into a shape shifting sand monster.

Peter's best friend Harry Osborn is seeking vengeance for his father's death, which he believes Peter caused. He attacks Peter, but ends up with short-term amensia and forgets the battle and everything else.
Later, there's a festival honouring Spiderman for saving Gwen Stacy. During that, Marko attempts to attack an armoured car and over powers spiderman.
At the police station, Peter and Aunt May discover that Marko killed Ben Parker. Peter is filled with sadness and revenge.

That night, the symbiote senses Peter's darker emotion of revenge and combines with him. This turns Peter's suit black and his personality turns violent and he attacks Marko underground.

Affected by the new black suit, he humiliates fake photographer Eddie Brock Jr. and alienates Mary Jane, whose stage career is falling apart. Meanwhile Harry recovers from his amnesia and threatens to kill Peter unless Mary Jane breaks up with him.
At this point, jealousy and rivalry increases rapidly.

To make Mary Jane jealous, Peter goes to a jazz club and dances with Gwen, but pushes Mary Jane to the floor. Peter then realises the symbiote has changed him completely.

Peter attempts to pull off his black spiderman suit in a belfry and discovers the symbiote hates noise. After a hard struggle, Peter pulls it off with a bell ringing. However, the symbiote possesses Eddie Broke and changes him into a hideous spider like monster. He then joins up with Marko and they both want to kill Spiderman, after all the humiliation and pain Peter gave them both.

Marko and Eddie use Mary Jane as bait for Peter to go save her. In a difficult battle, Peter asks Harry for help, but is turned down.
However, Harry learns the truth about his father's death and arrives in time to help Peter.

After an epic fight, Mary Jane is saved but Harry sacrificed his life to save Peter's. Peter remembered the sound waves weakened the symbiote and frees Eddie from it. He throws a bomb at it, however, Eddie's desire for the symbiote caused him to die in the explosion.

Peter forgives Marko and Marko leaves in his sand form. Peter and Mary Jane then attempt to fix their broken relationship.

This is a great film filled with plots and a lot of new characters. I thought this film was a lot better than the previous two made. The effects are amazing and the film has a special message inside. If a man is full of revenge and jealousy, it can turn them into something ugly.
