Tyler Cooper- Drums

Light-

To kick off this album, there is a longish but relaxed instrumental for around a minute, but soon the guitars are kicking in for a more upbeat and energetic sound. Once Tre's voice is introduced there is a wonderful combination as his voice is complimented by the almost space rock sound that reminds me a bit of angels and airwaves.

Ascension-

The start to this song was extremely catchy and the vocals flowed into the song well, Tre really shows off as when the song truly kicks in he makes use of his strong, passionate voice. Just before the second chorus comes in there are truly awesome guitar riffs that are almost addictive to listen to, I found myself drawn to this song almost instantly.

Broken Frequencies-

This song definitely showed a lot more emotion from the start; the lyrics come across very meaningful along with the jump between the more relaxed and emotional to the then extremely passionate. This was complimented perfectly by having the help and backing of the drums and guitar to truly give the song that extra push for when it jumps from the relaxed verses to the truly hard hitting and meaningful chorus.

Genesis-

I wasn't too keen on the vocals on this one at the start, it almost sounded a little unrehearsed, it improved a little more during the chorus but I still believe isn't the strongest tracks of the album, I think the vocals didn't at all fit well with the backing drums and guitars. I didn't get hooked at all during this song, quite liked some of the guitar riffs during certain parts though.

The storm-

The emotional introduction to this caught me out, really tugged at my heartstrings and I really enjoyed the melodic lyrics. The vocals were almost close to talking but worked extremely well. This song really was enjoyable in a sad kind of way; the mood is brought all the way down but was a nice change from the other heavier stuff. I'd say this is one of my most listened to track out of the album.

Earth as we know it-

This upbeat track was a delightful end to the album and was easy to listen to as well as had a very positive sound to it. The best part of this song was the guitar solo at the end which leads from the finishing vocals nicely to bring the song to a finish.

Overall I heard a lot of angels and airwaves inspiration in this and I really enjoyed the album. It has lovely vocals as well as upbeat guitar solo's which make the album awesome to listen to. I'd give this a 8/10 and would encourage anyone who's into space/alternative rock to give it a listen!
