Birmingham based Since Monroe have been together since early 2011 and have just released their 'Lost Generation EP' on Younitee Records.
In their own words;
'Starting back in March 2011, Andy Clifford and James Bradley had a musical vision to write music that was simple, catchy, riff driven and would reach out to a mass audience. In the short space of time since that first jam session they have snowballed with the help of Rich and Matt Tregortha, through various radio stations on digital and internet with their songs picking up a couple of accolades on the way'
Since Monroe bring together catchy punk riffs, brooding bass lines, erratic but tight beats and harmonic guitars that put me squarely in mind of Therapy?, albeit their lighter moments and Terrorvision.
Title track Lost Generation, a personal favourite, kicks straight in with the size nines before backing off into an uneasy groove.
DJ is, perhaps not surprisingly, a relentless, popier dance floor number and Jack Kahuna Laguna is a dissonant, indie track that shows an eclectic musical influence.
Last but not least, Satellites is another catchy, pop punk outing that overall sums up what I suspect would be the best thing about these songs, to see the band play them live.
The band are currently taking their sound on the road with shows coming up in Manchester, Wolverhampton & Birmingham.
