Shrek Forever After Review

Shrek is back, but for his Final Chapter. Featuring the usual cast of voice over actors such as Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz. The Storyline starts during Shrek 1 for the first few minutes, with King Harold and Queen Lillian trying to find alternative methods of stopping their daughter from being locked in the castle.
Enter the new villain of the franchise, Rumplestiltskin, who gives them a contract to sign and in return King Harold must give him his Kingdom and throne, but just as King Harold puts his quil down to sign, one of his servants declares she has been rescued. DOH! The film continues back to the original storyline, Shrek, Fiona and their 3 children are getting on with their lives, but Shrek is starting to want to become back to an ogre again, just for one day, he wishes people would be scared of him again.
So in Far Far Away, Shrek gets annoyed at his kids birthday party and smashes the cake. Enter the shifty Rumplestiltskin again tricking Shrek into giving a day of his life up, with Shrek saying he could take any day when he was a baby, so Rumplestiltskin took the day he was born, so he wouldn't exist. Shrek doesen't know that yet, but if Shrek didnt exist, he wouldn't of rescued Princess Fiona and Rumplestiltskin would have become king and Shrek would have no kids.
In short Shrek 4 is the animated remake of George Bailey and It's a Wonderful Life, without the tears, and the seemingly never ending energy of Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers. For the Final Shrek Film, it is not what I would have expected, And its been out for a few weeks now and it has had difficulty in breaking even with box office sales lower then expected. The storyline is good but not good enough for the Final Shrek.
