Now, unfortunately for the Sisters, Ta-Dah is their difficult second album, and as you probably know the second album isn’t a patch on the predecessor or the successor albums. But, fortunately for the Scissor Sisters, they have “broken the mould” with all of the above speculations.
Ta-Dah is both an easy listening album and an action packed floor filler album. Entwined with clever lyrics, and very catchy music, and of course, Bee Gee like high pitched singing, who wouldn’t enjoy the new Sisters album?
OK, so I admit to you that before I listened to the full album, I thought that the sisters were a talentless waste of time, I actually have come to hate the oh so predictable “I don’t feel like dancing” and the second single, “Land of a Thousand Words”, which I thought was a droney, boring, “turn it off PLEASE!” record, but as I listened to all of the tracks on Ta-Dah, I realised that many of the tracks I found myself humming and tapping my foot along to.
I admit that there are a couple of naff tracks, but, to be honest, what CD doesn’t? From Ta-Dah, I especially like “The Other Side” and “Paul McCartney”.
If you asked me a year ago to say what I think of the Scissor Sisters, I would have said they were “talentless self promoters” (this was when they weren’t known). But, fight it as I may, have become officially addicted to Scissor Sisters. This just shows you how attitudes can be changed in a matter of 12 songs…
