Romantic Gesture or Creepiness?

This morning started out pretty much as any other day, first 15 minutes consisting of stumbling around half awake after delivering a crushing blow to the alarm clock, firing the shower into my face in some hope it might wake me up, and eventually becoming conscious by the time I get outside. Only today did have a little surprise in store as I got outside.

Around our car park, and along a fairly lengthy driveway, we are fortunate enough to have quite a lot of trees (which unfortunately house a lot of birds, let me tell you, bird muck and car paint don't go too well together), and on every one of those trees, a hand written A4 sheet of lined paper, landscape, with a message of love scrawled on it. And I do mean EVERY TREE!

I should point out that these weren't my handy work or aimed at me!

Is it a grand romantic gesture, or is it pure creepiness or as my colleague Sarah in the Office just said "haha, somebody must be in the bad books!!". Seriously how would you feel (jeez what a cheap skate, guy could have least used 120gsm plain white paper)!? Who's going to take it all down!? Should I stick a lolcat under every single one? The real question is though, will it work?
