Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (12A)

Starring: Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow), Orlando Bloom (Will Turner), Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Swann), Jack Davenport (Norrington), Bill Nighy (Davy Jones), Jonathan Pryce (Governor Weatherby Swann)
The film is about Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann (the sexy and amazing Keira Knightley who also starred in "Domino" and "Bend it like Beckham"). Both Elizabeth and Will Turner (played by the brilliant Orlando Bloom who played in "Lord of the Rings" and "Troy") are arrested for helping the wanted Pirate, Jack. In his latest scam, Jack is seen making good his escape from a prison/fortress by pretending to be dead, and a coffin containing his body is thrown into the sea..unfortuantely for a Crow which ends up being target practice (point blank) and as the film progresses he ends up fighting for his life against Davy Jones.
In this tongue in cheek supernatural film Captain Jack is faced with bartering for his life with Davy Jones (played by the excellent Bill Nighy) who wants either Sparrow’s soul or 100 souls to swap for his freedom.
As it turns out Cutler Becket (who is played by Tom Hollander, a graduate of Cambridge University) who issues the arrest warrants for Elisabeth and Will also has motive to deal with Davy Jones. As a result Will and Elisabeth find themselves having to put their trust in Jack again, almost leading to their deaths with Davy Jones and his pet, the awesome "Kraken". However, if they find the chest then they find Davy Jones still beating heart, and the ability to control Davy Jones (and his pet) and then kill him.
Whilst on Davy Jones' ship, the "Flying Dutchman" (on which there are cannons with three barrels that look like the rocket launcher from Unreal Tournament) Will sees his father "Bootstrap" Bill (played by the Swedish actor Stellan Starsgard) for the first time when Davy Jones takes him hostage. When will escapes he promises to come back for his father and save him from his torture.
Jack sparrow is a bit of an alcoholic and seems his usual freaky self, but is a good pirate sometimes (Johnny Depp who plays Sparrow also starred in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Sleepy Hollow"). Its not a typical Disney film there’s a lot of gore which was surprising.
All in all I enjoyed the film, and would recommend it to anyone else, and I would like to say a big thank you to Terry at Leicester Odeon Cinema at Freemans.
