Paul 1

When you take a sci-fi novelist, a camper van, a nicotine addicted alien and an abducted Texan Christian? You just know it's gotta be good, right? The lovable duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have teamed up once again for Paul a sci-fi comedy with a twist.

Set in the states, we start our story at Comic Con with sci-fi novelist Clive Gollings (Nick Frost) and his companion Graeme Willy (Simon Pegg). To complete their dream tour of everything extra terrestrial they set off on a road trip around the United State's very own UFO hot spot. On their road trip unexpectedly pick up an a very interesting guest, Paul (Seth Rogan) the alien. In hot pursuit of Paul is a special agent (Jason Bateman), who under orders from the big boss needs to make sure he goes back, dead or alive. Paul takes refuge in a camper van and heads north.

Paul Rogen

The most endearing quality of Paul is that it takes everything you know of aliens throws it out the window, walks down to collect the remains and lovingly tapes it back together. Paul really isn't your average alien, he's not using advanced technology to speak English... he actually speaks English, he smokes, drinks, he's lazy and seems even more human than the rest of the guys!

Paul isn't like anything I've seen before it has a minty fresh quality to it. I mean it's not every day you go to a cinema to see an alien sitting round a camp fire smoking and not trying to destroy all humans. The film makes several stops down 'Nerdvana' paying homage to sci-fi classics such as Star Wars, Back to the future, E.T and Close Encounters. Mr Spielberg himself even makes a cameo!

Paul is a great film and I loved it, Pegg and Frost know how to make a great film and nothing has changed here. Paul hits new ground with some great twists and turns and a epic action packed sequence packed so tightly, it needed to be vacuum packed just to fit into the movie! Paul is definitely one to watch!
