No Messin'

Network Rail are working in partnership with Oadby And Wigston Borough Council to bring its summer No Messin' Live! tour to town - and they're looking for young people who would like to try something new - whether it's street soccer, wrestling, urban dance, or even showing their gaming skills on the newest computer games before they hit the shops.
Dozens of people are killed or seriously injured on the railway every year by mucking about on the tracks. Wigston has one of the highest levels of railway crime in the country which is why the tour is coming to town. The award winning No Messin' campaign is run by Network Rail and is aimed at tackling crime and saving lives on the railway. It gives young people the opportunity to try something different and maybe find a new interest - away from messing around on or near railway lines.
Eight No Messin' Live! events are taking place throughout the summer holidays across the UK. They are backed by boxing hero Amir Khan who launched the campaign on 6th April in London. In his own words "There's no excuse for mucking about on train tracks. You may think you're clever and fast but a train is quicker and what's clever about getting yourself killed? No Messin' Live! is a great way of finding a better way to spend your time, whether it's trying out new sports, like boxing, or skills such as mixing and having a laugh with your mates too."
The event is being supported by Oadby & Wigston Borough Council, Leicestershire Constabulary, British Transport Police (BTP), CrossCountry Trains, Youth Offending service, Youth Service and many others.
