Jennifers Body Xl 01 film A

With stunning Hollywood duo Megan Fox (Transformers, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People) and Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Mamma Mia) supported by the fresh and unique writing style of former stripper Diablo Cody (Writer of Juno), is this film another Juno or a plain no no.

Jennifer (Megan Fox) is possessed by a demon after an indie band try to sacrifice her impure soul mistaking her for a virgin, as you do. The evil demon dwelling within compels her to feast on the flesh of others in order to keep her glowing good looks, and newly acquired wolverine style healing power amongst other goodies. Something has to give and best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) decides it has to stop, but can she be the one to stop the empowered crazed beauty?

The thing I loved about Diablo Cody’s Juno was the writing style, giving Juno herself such a complete and genuine feel. Jennifer’s Body is written in the same style with an assortment of American teen language some real and some of which I must assume is contrived, it feels overused. Never good. But the characters just don’t have the same feel. I thought Amanda Seyfried however gave a fantastic performance and I’m sure she will be a big star in the not too distant future. Conversely a stale performance from Megan Fox leaves me questioning all the hype surrounding her and she is well and truly outclassed.

Jennifer’s Body isn’t Juno, that’s clear, it also isn’t really an out and out teen horror it’s somewhere in the middle. I enjoyed this film it’s not the best I’ve seen but certainly isn’t the worst. If you fancy a light trip to the cinema I would recommend you go and see this, but don’t expect an out of body experience.
