Forming in 2005, Grinspoon are an Australian rock band who are back two years after releasing their fifth album, with their latest offering and sixth album ‘Six To Midnight’.

“Dr Lester Grinspoon, Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School has much to answer for, as it was he who first highlighted the positive medicinal uses of Marijuana. He also lent his expert knowledge during the trial on the deportation of a certain Mr John Lennon, and latterly, on the naming of Australia’s foremost rock band, GRINSPOON.”

The album kicks off with ‘Dogs’ which supports screaming vocals, and angry lyrics. Although as I get through the album I realise that a lot of the lyrics have a ranty feel to them. I wonder if any of the songs are written through personal experiences?

Track 6 ‘Right Now’ brings the album back to it’s rocky vibes, but as soon as it turns to track 7 ‘Give You More’ I have decided that this album is more pop-rock than anything else, and I’m not too sure if there is one sense of direction with the album at all.

With all that said, I do like the album, and it’s the easy and simple sort of rock music that I do enjoy listening to from time to time. They are a multi-platinum selling Australian rock group, and with a long line of albums behind them, I’m pretty they are a band that I would enjoy seeing live.
