First question on your mind is this game just another cheap and shameless cash in on a much loved franchise? The answer is that Ghost Busters: The Video Game is so very far away from this in the same way that Katie Price is never going to be a theoretical physicist.
The game throws you in as the new rookie Ghostbuster, the experimental equipment technician trying all of Egon’s new proton pack (Your main weapon) expansions and having great fun with them. Another major part is the game play, we all want to enjoy ourselves and I really did. Wrangling and trapping ghosts is so much fun, and after you finish the somewhat short yet exciting campaign there is an online multiplayer, which is surprisingly enjoyable and really can be exciting at times. The graphics are also quite impressive however look a little stretched in HD on the PS3 which I find a little odd but didn’t hinder the fun factor.
I loved this game from the graphics to the ghosts and they captured every last essence of the Ghostbusters in it. I guess it doesn’t hurt that Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis (Two of the original Ghostbusters and writers of the first two movies) to pen it, to give it that authentic feel and that almost the entire cast returned for this epic video game blockbuster. It’s the perfect boredom buster although it is a little on the short side, however if you’re a GB fan then what are you waiting for? Go get your self a copy now or fear the wrath of the Stay Puft Marshmallow man.
