Starring: Breckin Meyer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Stephen Tobolowsky, Bill Murray, Evan Arnold
Inspired by Jim Davis, creator of Garfield, 20th century fox decided to make a film which stars the orange, lasagne eating cat.
Garfield (voiced by Bill Murray) spends most of his time doing what he famously does: sleeping, snoozing, lying around, getting the better of others and of course, eating lasange.
However, his easy life is turned around. Jon (Breckin Meyer) has fallen in love with the beautiful vet Liz (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and is tempted by her to adopt the adorable dumb looking Odie.
Garfield's simple living is twisted about when Odie is in his life. However, poor Odie becomes lost and is kidnapped by evil Happy Chapman (Stephen Tobolowsky) who works in TV advertising pet food. It's then up to Garfield to save Odie and lead a heroic mission, which means leaving the Cul-De-Sac.
Garfield is computer-animated in the film but all the other animals are not. I think Garfield is a very funny film.
I have never read any of Jim Davis's comic strips of Garfield, but Garfield looks quite different in the film compared to the original drawings.
