Fifa has come leaps and bounds in recent years but is this the instalment that leaves Pro Evo eating it’s fully licensed dust?

Over the years football fans have asked themselves the time old question. Fifa or Pro Evo. I have to say its got to be the mighty Fifa coming out on top again this year. As Pro Evolution Soccer sits there safely nestled with its unchanged game play mechanics and archaic menu system, Fifa has taken a gigantic leap forward and this year is better than ever!

From the moment I put the disc in I was hooked, the stylish new menu is easy to use yet perhaps a little cluttered, but classy. Options include Kick off if you want to get a match going quickly and with reduced loading times this is made even easier. There is also the be a pro mode which allows you to create a player which you can also scan your face on to (there is an easy tutorial on Fifa 10’s website). Finally the popular manager mode has had a complete overall offering a lot more depth making transfers and results more realistic no more Charlton playing in the champion’s league sadly.

Graphics are still in good form looking as good as last year with no major improvements. What we all care about however is how it plays and once again doesn’t disappoint. The new 360 degrees dribbling allows you to hold the ball up, cut inside and play the best passing game yet. As for crosses this option has also been tuned up making it easier to find you man as well as a brand spanking new shooting mechanic which makes scoring a whole new and more rewarding challenge.

This is simply the best Fifa yet, oozing with style and longevity the perfect game to keep any football fan free of boredom for the rest of the season. Pro evo consider yourself blown out of the water.
