This book is great for any person that loves Dawn French, keeping your interest alive as you read. This isn’t quite like most autobiographies as it consists of different letters to different people. There are 366 pages so it’s a very long to read. It isn’t recommended if you only want to know a few facts about her, you have to read the whole book to find out about her life. The letters tell different stories and dig deep into the depths of her heart. Some letters are emotional, some are written in complete slang and then some are funny, this is to be expected, as she is a comedian. I enjoyed the funny stories, without these it would be boring to read.
The first few pages are an introduction mainly to her life and to show you what she’s been through. Most of the letters are to close friends, family and old boyfriends. It tells you a great deal about how important her family is to her. A good thing about this book is some of the letters are from when she was around the age of 14, these are written to band members she fancied. These were hilarious because of the way she speaks about them. The pictures are great to look at as it shows you how she has changed whilst growing up. The book includes a bit of swearing, it isn’t really offensive and you can imagine her saying it in a funny way.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It was different, and I enjoy different. It made me laugh out loud at some occasions, which shows the book is funny. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends and some members of my family.
