Bleeding Through

First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer some of our questions. How is the tour going so far?

I would have to say that so far this is one of the best tours I have ever been a part of. We have a lot of real good friends on this tour and it makes for a truly special experience. All the shows are really over the top!

You’ve toured with some big names over the years (Machine Head, Slayer and Marilyn Manson to name a few) – have these experiences taught you anything about life on the road?

Having the chance to tour with so many veteran acts just really makes you strive to always do your best and leave a mark with every performance. When you are on tour with so many bands as this one it creates a healthy sense of competition that is good for everyone.

Is there anyone that you haven’t had the chance to tour with yet but would like to?

I personally would like to tour with Lamb Of God....

How do you spend your downtime while not on tour?

I teach guitar lessons at home full time. I am starting to do web lessons as well so if anyone is interested......haha… dnassie@yahoo.com hit me up!

You were one of the first metalcore bands to use keyboards to bring a more melodic side to your music - do you find that having the keyboards in the mix allows you to to explore musical options that wouldn't otherwise be available to you?

Sure, anytime you add another instrument into the mix it creates different opportunities for you to take your music in a different direction. Keyboards add a very atmospheric feel to everything we do.

How does the writing process come together? Do you all sit down and go through things as a group, or does each band member bring something to the table and you work on it from there?

We all sit down and jam it out like any band really should. It always starts with an idea from someone and then we all work it from there. Primarily it's Brandan, Brian, and myself that kicks it off with a riff or two.

Devin Townsend was the producer on your 2008 album, "Declaration" - do you mind telling us how this came about?

Just a good long time friend that we always wanted to work with. No real crazy back story.... we were all a fan of him and still really are.

Who would you say are the influences behind Bleeding Through?

Everything.... we all listen to a wide range of things and that really adds to the process at the end of the day. You have to have a wide range of tastes to bring in new ideas when it's time to write.

Finally, is there anything you would like to say to your fans out there?

We will be working our a***s off this year to come back with a strong album. Keep up on all that we are doing through all the proper avenues and we will see you soon!
