CreARTive Exhibition

South Leicestershire College held their “CreARTive Exhibition” on the 29th May 2009, at “The Cove”, celebrating the creative work such as photographs, videos, paintings, drawings and poetry. There was no age limit, with exhibitors given the opportunity to show up to four pieces of work to students of local schools, colleges and universities as well as members of the public, press and media professionals. 6 members of the Jitty sent between them 40 photos and 4 poems.
Some of the students from South Leicestershire College had organised the event as part of their media coursework, and were there on hand to collect in votes, help visitors, and of course, set the entire exhibition up. There were even mini packs of Haribo available for visitors who voted on their favourite pieces!
Andy Wardle won with 8% of the votes with his mightily impressive VW Beetle on a canvas receiving many “oohs” and “ahs” when viewers walked by! But the real winners were the students who organised an excellent event, and of course, all of the exhibitors. Here’s hoping that there is a repeat performance equally as good!
